Identification of Active Surface Species in Molten Carbonates Using in situ Raman Spectroscopy

Here we report the results of a study on active surface species pristine and modified (Li-Na) 2 CO 3 eutectic using in situ Raman spectroscopy technique. The effects gas compositions, temperature, time, alkaline earth have been systematically studied. 4 2– , HCO – C O 5 are identified as three major by combined theoretical density functional theory calculations. further reveal that preferably formed presence H O, high concentration. With addition Ba to eutectic, /HCO shifts become more pronounced.
